Description: |
Dr. Lei Shao had served as an engineer in Daye Iron Mine, China for six years (1990-1996) before he obtained his Ph. D. at University of Science and Technology Beijing in 2000, majoring in Mineral Processing Engineering. He then worked as a postdoc fellow in the Research Center of Ministry of Education for High Gravity Engineering and Technology in Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) for two years and now is a full professor in BUCT. Dr. Shao’s research interests involve the application of high gravity technology, nanoparticles synthesis by wet chemistry methods and heavy metals removal or immobilization by powders. He is working under a joint faculty agreement at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, engaged in the syntheses of semiconductor nanocrystals (quantum dots). |
