Description:

Shawn is a guest researcher at ORNL interning through the Department of Energy Faculty and Student team (FaST).  His research project is focused on ozonation as a method to treat oil/gas produced water prior to disposal.  This project involves development of the experimental setup, experimental and analytical techniques and protocols, and execution of experiments.  His advisors are Dr. Costas Tsouris (Mentor) and Dr. Jorge Gabitto (Faculty of Prairie View A&M University). This is Shawn’s first research project and he hopes to return to ORNL for the summer of 2009.
